ECO-Friendly UK Visa News:

Applicants for the UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa and other UK Settlement Visa who are in a hurry to obtain decisions of their applications can now avail of the Priority Visa Service (PV).

According to the new rules, applicants who opt to file their application using this feature are assured that their application will be placed at the front of the queue, ahead of all the applicants who filed in the conventional manner.

The UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa and other UK Settlement Visa applicant who files under the PV scheme are guaranteed that the UKVI will aim to process their applications within 5-7 working days.

ECO-Friendly explains that at present, the UKVI’s official policy on the processing days of any type of settlement visa, be it a UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa or any other UK Settlement Visa is 60 working days or more than two (2) months.

The new scheme, which is available in both the Manila and Cebu receiving offices of the UK Embassy, entails an additional payment of Php32,400 in addition to the present Visa Fee of US$1,386.

Payments for this additional service may either be in the form of cash, paid over the counter when the applicant files the actual application at the UK Embassy’s receiving office, or may likewise be paid online.

According to the UKVI website, “…Customers using the PV service when applying for a settlement visa are asked to ensure that they provide the following documents at the time of submission, failure to do so will mean that your application will not be processed within the specified 10 working days:"

Spouse/civil partner and marriage:
  1. CENOMAR – for applicant and also for sponsor (if Filipino)
  2. Death certificate – if previous husband/wife is deceased
Child Settlement:
  1. Birth certificate – for applicant
  2. Death certificate – if other parent is deceased

“Full terms and conditions of the PV service are in the Applicant Declaration which customers who wish to use this service must read, print off, sign and bring to the VAC with their application,” according to the website.

ECO-Friendly news:

Effective today, 18th March 2016, the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will increase its application and service fees.

Applicants for the UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa and other UK Settlement Visa will have to pay an additional 25% for the application.

According to GOV.UK, “…the Home Office introduced (this) legislation to set the maximum amounts it can charge for visa, immigration and nationality applications over the next 4 years.”

ECO-Friendly notes that aside from the UK Settlement Visa, there will also be an increase with respect to the Work and Student Visas, Visit Visa, as well as the optional premium services offered by the Home Office like the Super Premium Service and the Priority visa Service.

The UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) explained that the rate increase is necessary and cannot be avoided because of the need to improve the services of the agency, especially now that there has been an increase in the number of applicants wanting to travel to the UK either to settle, visit, work or study.

“These changes ensure that the Home Office can achieve a self-funding system, whilst continuing to provide a competitive level of service, and a fees structure that remains attractive to businesses, migrants and visitors,” the UKVI said.

From the original application fee of £956 for the UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa and other UK Settlement Visa, the fee has now been raised to £1,195.

The work, student and visit visas were increased by 2% while the application fee ofr the UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa and other UK Settlement Visa was increased by 25%. The UKVI explained that the application fees for these visas were increased by 25% because, “…these routes deliver the most benefits to successful applicants.”

Meanwhile, the Optional Premium Services like the Super Premium Service and the Priority Visa Services overseas were raised by a whopping 33%.
