​NEW VISA FEES FOR UK SETTLEMENT VISA APPLICATIONS

Manila, Philippines - As of 6 April 2017, the applicable fees for a applications for a UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa or any other UK Settlement Visa have been increased by an average of 25%.

The UK Home Office explained the increase was aimed at insuring that the UK government will not take the burden of paying for the expenses of managing the “…border, immigration and citizenship system.”

In its statement, the UKVI said that the rise in fees, “…will allow us to reduce taxpayer contributions towards the border, immigration and citizenship system and ensure that by 2019–2020 the system is self-funded by those who use it.

ECO-Friendly disclosed that before the increase was announced, the visa fee for any UK Settlement Visa, whether for a UK Spouse Visa or a UK Fiancée Visa filed in the Philippines was pegged at £1,195 or $1,550.33.

The present rates have now been raised to £1,464 or $1,899.32 which is an increase of over 25%.

Converted to peso, the present rate for filing a UK Spouse Visa or a UK Fiancée Visa is now a whopping PHP94,479.80.

Meanwhile, Eco-Friendly would also like to inform our dear readers, especially those other immigration consultancies (in the Philippines or abroad) who have been frequently visiting our website for authentic, reliable and official information, that the visa fees for the UK Visitor Visa has likewise been increased, albeit very slightly.

According to the UKVI, the visa fee for a standard six (6) months UK Visit Visa has been raised from £87 to £89 or a mere £2 increase.

ECO-Friendly adds that the two (2), five (5) and ten (10) year visit visas have likewise been increased to £337, £612 and £752 respectively.

The Home Office added that, “…the new legislation will set maximum levels on the amounts for broad categories of fees that can be charged by the Home Office over the next 4 years.

“Fees for all sponsorship categories will stay at the current rates,” The Home Office meanwhile clarified.

The said office, did not elaborate on any other increases such as the Immigration Health Surcharges (IHS) which remain fixed and unaltered since the beginning of 2017.
