According to ECO-friendly, the increase was effective this February, and was implemented very swiftly, that most applicants filing online were taken by surprise.
The last time eco-friendly filed for a UK Spouse Visa in 22 January 2018, the visa fee was USD1,974.00
As of today 07 February 2018, however, the visa fee for a UK Spouse Visa is USD2,050 or a USD76 increase. The same increase was implemented for the UK Fiancée Visa, as well as the other settlement visa like the Unmarried Partner Visa, Civil
Partner Visa and the Same-Sex Partner Visa.
According to the official website of the UK government, the processing period for the UK Spouse Visa, UK Fiancée Visa or any other UK Settlement Visa reportedly remains the same, which is officially 60 working days.
Based on ECO-Friendly’s experience, however, majority of the decisions, especially for the most sought after UK Spouse Visa and UK Fiancée Visa is actually released usually more than 90 working days because of the heavy load which the Sheffield office has been undergoing.
Even for an application for a UK Spouse Visa or a UK Fiancée Visa filed under the priority lane with the VFS-UK Philippines which normally takes 13 – 15 days before, the whole process recently took more than 30 working days, which caused anxiety and stress to the applicant.
Good thing the application was approved otherwise it would have been hellish for the applicant who was angry and irritated during the long wait. Her anger and irritation was, however, transformed to happiness and glee when we received a very favorable result from the entry clearance officer (ECO).
Meanwhile, for the standard visit visa, there was no increase. The last time ECO-Friendly paid online for its client was on 08 January 2018, and the fee is still the same as of this writing.
Here are the fees for the standard visitor visa depending on the length of stay:
- Longer-term (valid up to two years) USD472
- Longer-term (valid up to five years ) USD857
- Longer-term (valid up to ten years) USD1,074
